ADRT CD-ROM Utility Documentation
***CHECK YOUR CONFIGS!! The configuration files have changed slightly if
you are upgrading from a version prior to 2.1
What is ADRTCDROM? ADRTCDROM is an extremely configurable CD-ROM programme
for MEBBSNet Sysops. It allows you to create multiple file lists for many
CD's while using only one programme.
Installation:
Create a directory in your MEBBSNet:Rexx/ directory called ADRTCDROM and
copy the ADRTCDROM.Rexx to that new directory. If you choose, you can copy
the 1.cfg and the 2.cfg files there as well. The .cfg files included in
this archive are for the FredFish volumes 7 and 8. Then just add the
following to your File menu or Sig Selection Menu:
;--------CUT HERE------
Option '4':
Function Arexx MEBBSNet:Rexx/ADRTCDROM/ADRTCDROM
End
;-------CUT HERE------
However, you may use any key command for the menu option you choose.
Configuration files:
Currently, ADRTCDROM handles 2 types of file listings, A Standard Files.bbs
as found on disks like Fred Fish volumes and one type of listing that I have
created myself. If your CD doesn't have a files.bbs you will have to create
one or an ADRTCD file listing (Either will work)
configuration files look like this:
Download access ;Minimum access required to Download Files
Read Access ;Minimum access to actually enter ADRTCDROM
Volume Name ;This MUST end in a ':' used to scan for the CD in the drive
CD Description ;A short description of what is in the CD-ROM currently
FileList Type ;Use ONLY 'FILESBBS' or 'ADRTCD' (without quotes)
Area Description ;Name of the File area
FileList Path ;Path (including filename) of the filelisting for the area
Files Path ;Path where to find files for this area it MUST end in a
; ':' or '/'. Just repeat lines 4-6 for all fileareas
;That you wan't on that CD. See 1.cfg or 2.cfg for more

Filelistings:

ADRTCD

(as in the files.bbs ADRTCD lists only support 26 letter filename and 46
letter descriptions)
Creating a FREQ'able files listing
----------------------------------
Yes! You can create a file listing for your CD-ROM drive with ADRTCDROM now.
It is quite simple. Just run the programme from DOS or put the following in
one of your MEBBSNet script files (ie. Midnight.SCP)
Rx MEBBSNet:Rexx/ADRTCDROM.Rexx LIST MEBBSNet:Mail/FREQ/FILES.TXT
Notice that "LIST" is the keyword to envoke the file list generator.
and "MEBBSNet:Mail/FREQ/FILES.TXT" is the path and filename to your
EXISTING files list. If the filename specified does not exist, ADRTCDROM
will not process anything, it will simply exit. The files list that
ADRTCDROM creates is appended to the file listing that you have created
with which ever programme you use. (I use MEBBSFL)
**Please note: It is up to you to add all file paths to your Freq.Cfg so
that MEBBSNet knows where to find them when someone freq's from you!
Using ADRTCDROM with ADRTGuide
------------------------------
If you've heard of, or used Mercury (by Roger Clark), then this will be no
stranger to you. What the command line option GUIDE does, is simply prepare
a file list for use with ADRTGuide. The reason for this special format is
because ADRTGuide requires Keywords in the file list. Please note, that
ADRTGuide will require a pre-created listing of your harddrive areas first,
unless you come up with some other way (Like adding your CDROM areas to a
pre-written text file). See ADRTGuide's documentation for more information
on this issue.
Example for creating the special list format for ADRTGuide:
Rx MEBBSNet:Rexx/ADRTCDROM.Rexx GUIDE RAM:FILES.TXT
And thats about all you need to know about ADRTCDROM
ADRTCDROM is (c) 1995 Andrew Darrell Rooney Technologies
If you use this programme and think it is one of the most superb examples
of REXX Scripting :-) you could do one of the following:
-Mail me a postcard
-Mail me computer hardware (Picasso II !!)
-Send me some of your programmes
-Send me some of somebody elses programmes
-Call my BBS and leave me E-Mail about how cool it is
-Send me Money -any amount (Money is ALWAYS welcome)
-Place a bounty on my ex-girlfriends head
-Mail me 2DD disks (with or without software)
-Eat olive loaf till you puke
-Do nothing and make me terribly distrot thus going into an intense level of
comotose where I end up in some psycho ward working with IBM compatibles
writing proboard utilities and eating olive loaf till I puke.
